Entertainment on Clarke Quay
Posted on by Pushpitha WijesingheSince 1819 when modern Singapore was founded, Clarke Quay served its purpose as the hub of trade with hundreds of barge lighters transporting goods and cargo to warehouses. When the center of cargo services was relocated to a modern facility as the Singapore River gradually was polluted, the daily energy and thrill that had traveled through the streets quietly died. The area was still and calm and silence hushed across the residences and pubs until the area was revamped by 1987, creating a flourishing entertainment precinct.
Restaurants, nightclubs, shopping malls galore scatter the streets offering flavours, scents, colours and patterns, adding vibrant activity and the hustle and bustle to Clarke Quay. A hotel in Singapore located along Clarke Street will find hundreds of international tourists make a Singapore hotel reservation especially during holidays and festival times. Copthorne King’s Singapore is conveniently located allowing its guests easy access to shopping hubs and the entertainment zone perfecting your stay with warm hospitality and exclusive service.
