The Eco Future exhibition is the best place to take your entire family to when on holiday in Abu Dhabi. You can be assured that there is ample entertainment to keep the children occupied too. The exhibition started in September 2012 and will run for a whole year, remaining open till September 2013. The exhibition is held at Manrat Al Saadiyat which is a visitor centre that is spread over a 154,000 square metre area. Manarat Al Saadiyat means a place of enlightenment and is a venue that has expansive galleries. One of the many galleries hosts the Eco Future event which is open to the public daily from 10am to 8pm.
The exhibition consists of four interactive stations: Ali, Mosa, Yas and Sara. These stations include six different zones namely ‘Drinking’, ‘Eating’, ‘Enjoying’, ‘Moving’, ‘Building’ and ‘Future City’. Eco Future is aimed at building awareness about the shrinking natural resources of the world and how we can best utilize the materials that are available. There are interesting displays that tell you about the climate changes that have occurred over the years and what has been altered or lost as a result of it.
While the exhibition focuses on climate change it also pays attention to human consumption around the globe. Excessive consumption has seriously affected the natural environment surrounding us. Each day the earth omits toxic fumes and other substances that are harmful to our lives. The exhibition looks to inform people about these facts and prevent further damage to the atmosphere. It encourages sustainable lifestyles that conserve energy and preserve the natural assets that exist.
There are a number of design options and prototypes of structures that are eco-friendly. Visitors can also get involved with games and observe exhibits and objects that represent health and environmental issues in contemporary society. The best part about the exhibition is the fact that it provides solutions for the environmental problems that we face in the current context.
